HUGE day racing for Kirkwood Stables Grads

At Saratoga in the prestigious  Diana G1 Graded SW RECEPTA owned by Phillips Racing Partnership and Pam Gartin and bred by John W. Phillips & Hank Snowden settled in mid pack and then came wide late to run second by a nostril in an exciting finish. She has earned over $696,000 for her connections.

Three year old Hard Spun colt HIT IT ONCE MORE stepped up into stakes company in the NY Derby at Finger Lakes and wired the field drawing off to win by over 6 lengths.  He is owned by August Dawn Farm, was bred by  JMJ Racing Stables, LLC and is trained by Gary Sciacca. He has earned over $200,000.

The icing on the cake was the win at Saratoga by the Dogwood Farm owned and Todd Pletcher trained MONEY CHANGER who bumped his earning over $117,000.

INCONCLUSIVE wins Tawee S on a DQ

INCONCLUSIVE added her second consecutive stakes win–this time via disqualification–in the first division of Indiana Grand’s feature, the Tawee S.  Victorious in a one-mile optional claimer over the Fair Grounds turf to begin her year she then ran second in the  G3 Bourbonette Oaks over the synthetic at Turfway.  Switched back to the grass she rallied to take the Northbound Pride Oaks  at Canterbury for her first stakes win.   INCONCLUSIVE ran  off the pace  early then rallied along the hedge on the far turn and finally shifted out to the six path as a rival  bulled through a narrow opening and knocked a several off stride. After an objection and a stewards’ inquiry into the stretch run Inconclusive was declared the winner. She is owned by Carolyn Friedberg and Jeff T.  Larson,  was bred by James Heyward and is trained by  Richard R. Scherer. She has earned  $193,680.

Tom’s Ready to Spendthrift Upon Retirement

Tom’s Ready, winner of the Woody Stephen Stakes (gr. II) in June at Belmont Park, will stand at Spendthrift Farm upon his retirement following an agreement with owner GMB Racing to acquire the breeding rights to the son of More Than Ready .

DUVAL runs off with allowance win at PARX

Five year old gelding DUVAL has traveled around the country and earned over $269,000 with a wonderfully consistent record of 27: 6-5-8. He is now owned by Ten Strike Racing and trained by Juan Carlos Guerrero. Today, going off the heavy favorite,  he dueled briefly for the lead, got it and the rail position and sailed to a 2 length win going 6 furlongs on the dirt at PARX.
