Kenny Had a Notion led home a one-two finish for his trainer and sire to contribute to another productive Maryland Million Day for the Northview Stallion Station stalwart. Up by a head on debut at Delaware July 30, the bay could only manage sixth back at that track in the restricted First State Dash S. for Delawarecertified and/or bred runners in the slop Sept. 26. He took to turf when airing by five lengths in the Jamestown S. here for Virginia-bred or -sired youngsters Oct. 9, and was let go at 7-1 looking to take advantage of another regional qualification. Tracking from a good pocket spot and always appearing loaded, Kenny Had a Notion took over up a wide-open rail heading for home and poured it on from there to prove much the best.

“They’re both nice,”said Dale Capuano of the top two. “Kenny is getting better and so is Alwaysinahurry. [Kenny] showed more speed than I thought he would. He was on the bit very early and the rider had to just get a seam and lucky the rail opened up and he got through.”

The winner has a yearling half-brother by Divining Rod.
